Trainspotting adapted from Irvine Welsh's novel and made by means of the Shallow Grave team of writer John Hedge, producer Andrew Macdonald, and director Danny Boyle, giving us characters and moments which can be unforgettable. Ewan McGregor performs Renton, an on-and-off heroin addict who can not decide whether to smooth up or regress in the employer of his loser buddies in working-elegance Edinburgh, and later in London. The movie was produced in 1996.

Trainspotting in reality refers to a consultation of darkish linear mark or tune that is left inside the veins after taking pictures heroin. The first element is that heroin users mainline along their palms and inject up and down on the primary vein. "Station to station," they call it. For addicts, the whole lot narrows all the way down to that one intention of having tablets. "Trainspotters" are like that, obsessively taking down the numbers of trains.

The five fundamental actors on this movie are all adult males and with a life threatening drug dependancy. Trainspotting can be categorized below four special sorts of movie genre along with: drama, comedy, crime and drug lifestyle. "Trainspotting" is classified as drama since it is a extreme tale because of the drug habit and several scenes that confirmed the actual lives of junkies, and image pictures of injecting heroin. On the alternative hand it can be categorized as comedy in particular whilst Spud is going to an interview excessive on velocity and other humorous moments which are there to loosen up the seriousness of the film. This can be categorized as black humour. Surely Trainspotting also can be out below the crime and drug tradition style due to the tale in itself and the characters This film gives us a very brilliant and actual picture of a heroin addict's every day routine.'Choose Life...' the film's most famous quote method lots. Those portrayed in Trainspotting are the ones that need to recognize selecting life; they may be those that this phrase become penned for and who are these people residing a existence less normal? They are addicts in Scotland, residing lives which are synchronized round getting what they want. For 3 of them, heroin is their mode of dependancy, for some other passivity, and for the ultimate aggression. They are a mad quintet, pissing away lives that might maybe amount to some thing.

In the start as we are added to our humble narrator Renton (McGregor). We can see that he is on a street to nowhere, stealing CDs from a store in hopes of creating a bit coins to pay for the following hit. His domestic away from home is a drug provider's condo ( Mother Superior) in which he is issued a everyday platter of needle, spoon, lighter, and heroin beside his quality associates Sick Boy (Miller) and Spud (Bremner). They are as tough as he is, though Spud is helpless in his dependancy whilst Sick Boy is simply there to evaluate metaphorical sizes.

Movies about drug addiction are honestly not anything new, however this film makes everything look distinct, nearly like it's miles the first film to cope with the situation. Trainspotting is brave and regularly hilarious; it's darkish, clever and stubborn. It's more than one of the great 'drug movies' ever made; it is arguably the greatest movie to pop out of the UK

Ewan McGregor performs the principle individual; Mark Renton. He introduces the movie Trainspotting with an exceptionally energetic scene, the previous scene accompanied through Iggy Pop's 'Lust for Life', along with Renton's sarcastic narration, which rejects our weak, mechanical life in favour of the thrill of heroin. Iggy pop is Renton's hero. He even has a poster of him in his room. When he goes clubbing, we observe that his heroin dependancy has been going on for a long term as he doesn't recognize any of the new songs on the membership. Diane makes him notice this, and Renton starts offevolved to recognize that heroin has taken so much out of his existence.

"People associate it with misery, desperation and demise, which isn't to be left out. But what they neglect is the delight of it, in any other case we wouldn't do it" He is certainly appalled by using society and the materialistic satisfactions it gives. He later compares heroin: 'imagine the satisfactory orgasm you ever had and multiply it by using one thousand and you are no longer even there' However, after a few minutes into the film he comes to a decision to cease heroin. The viewers might also conclude that it is time to move on in lifestyles, but he couldn't stay life without heroin as we see thru out the movie his numerous unsuccessful trials at quitting his dependancy

Renton has a serious drug habit, and because of his unemployment need to preserve is by means of shoplifting and petty theft. When he changed into on methadone, he had his 'last hit' and this resulted in an overdose. This truely suggests an effort to avoid being compliant. In fact, it is this decided mindset which possibly explains heroin's over Renton. He states, "We'd inject Vitamin C in the event that they made it illegal"

Even although he manages to kicked his heroin dependancy and begins a new existence in London, his antique circle of buddies are not easy to get rid of and Renton ends up getting concerned in a drug deal, and sells 4 pounds of heroin along with his 'so-referred to as' buddies. Towards the give up of the movie, he betrays the others by way of escaping with the cash. This indicates the viewers that he determined to 'pick out existence', be 'just like us' that is a dubious aim; the traits of which the movie questions the whole time

Renton is dreamy, sharp, troubled, and calm, reputedly all at the equal time, and you never understand where you are with him, as he never is aware of wherein he's with himself. It's an understated portrayal of an basically rootless individual - yet a magnetic one.

Johnny Lee Miller plays the a part of Sick Boy who's portrayed as a handsome man who has the addiction of speaking nonsense and bombarding his buddies with minutiae approximately Sean Connery. He is a womanizing James Bond wannabe, who's exceedingly smart. Sick Boy is the one who appears least laid low with his heroin dependancy. In reality, whilst Renton tries to end heroin, Sick boy does the equal simply to spite him In the film Trainspotting Sick boy is the one who trivializes heroin and appears to haven't any problems together with his addiction contrary to the relaxation of the crew.

"The film best touches on the query of the way a ways his personality is genuine or simply social camouflage" . Sick Boy's behaviour within the final components of the movie show how the loss of life of his infant has affected him and made him more crime prone. He starts offevolved to deal in tablets, pimping and will become an all spherical con. Renton states that once Sick Boy's child passed away, some thing inner Sickboy should have died and by no means came again .

Later in the film, Renton escapes to London to begin a brand new lifestyles, at the same time as Sick Boy and the rest of his buddies stay in the Scottish capital. When he visits Renton all of sudden, he without delay sells Renton's tv with out consent and he also gives to promote Renton's passport. Sickboy is so fixated along with his new criminal profession that he in no way even bothers to consider Renton's emotions. "He turns into obsessed on growing useful contacts for that elusive 'massive deal', and sticks a finger in any pie on provide" He becomes a manipulative pimp and drug-pusher at every possibility and wouldn't hesitate about taking advantage and manipulating anyone for the purpose of self-development. All via out this ordeal Sick boy remains as vain as continually.

Tommy, played by Kevin McKidd, contrasts vividly with the other important characters. He is portrayed as athletic, finding pleasure walking within the countryside, weight lifting and watching soccer in preference to making use of medication. As the film progresses, there may be a drastic trade in Tommy, turning him into the worst of the bunch with a "rapid and deadly" descent .

Tommy's relationship along with his girlfriend Lizzie does now not appear to be progressing well. The stress of locating their selfmade porn film lacking because Renton "borrowed" is the final straw for Lizzie and breaks off the connection. When his efforts to patch up his courting fail, Tommy falls in a melancholy and resorts to drugs. Sadly sufficient (black comedy), it's miles Lizzie, the very character whom Tommy loves that reasons his loss of life. With the elevated use of heroin, Tommy contacts HIV. His to start with easy and tidy condo will become filthy. His final tentative to regain Lizzie sees him getting her a kitten, which she refuses. Tommy is located dead because of an infection from the kitten's faeces . This has a social connotation as HIV and AIDS due to heroin abuse became on the growth and booming in 1996.

Clarke considers this character's story helps to create an ethical attitude on this movie, giving the audience some thing to reflect onconsideration on. Anyone can fall victim to drug abuse, even youths taken into consideration as 'desirable'. Clark states that Tommy is portrayed as free from drugs on movie while uses amphetamines in Irvine Welsh's novel. This may be credited to the reality that positive individuals might choose watching the movie instead of studying the e book as a consequence the message needs to be harsher to get across. The identical can be stated of Tommy's behind-the-scene drug use. As the movie proceeds, Tommy's fitness aggravates consequently surprising the audience. In the cease, with out Lizzie, Tommy "chose no longer to pick out existence" but heroin and death .

Begbie considers himself higher than any of the rest. This is seen sincerely whilst he lectures his buddies after Renton narrowly escapes imprisonment , and trys to seem mature in front of Renton's mother and father and whilst he claims that never would he "poison" himself with chemicals. Alcohol also can be considered as a dangerous chemical to the body, but Begbie doesn't see it as such. Begbie takes a commanding mindset while with his pals, as an example within the final pub combat scene when he orders Renton to convey him a cigarette or at some stage in the hallucination scenes in addition to during his live with Renton in England.

Spud, the "amiable, childlike loser" as described by way of Clarke, is played by using Ewen Bremner . Clarke considers Spud's lifestyles as brimming with incorrect picks, consisting of his desire of medicine that is taken into consideration mistaken to his susceptible person . During his six-week dating with Gail, they never had sex. On the night she desired to have intercourse with him, Spud became too drunk to do some thing. On awaking in Gail's mattress the subsequent morning, he finds the sheets dirty. Spud's bowel contents turn out to be smeared on Gail and her mother and father even as consuming breakfast .

Clarke compares other scenes from the movie. Spud receives incarcerated for shoplifting while Renton emerges almost scot-unfastened. Similarly, Diane sees Spud lying intoxicated below the pavement in the course of the letter scene even as the others appear lucid . Also, no matter numerous threats, Spud is the best member of the institution to be injured by way of Begbie. Nonetheless, it's miles inevitable for absolutely everyone to love Spud. The target audience sympathise with him. Renton desires he ended in prison as opposed to his pal. In the end, he leaves cash only for Spud due to the fact he pities him.

Kelly Macdonald starring as Diane is younger however smart beyond her actual years. This is proven especially whilst she offers with guys. At first, Renton sees her at a nightclub rejecting the advances of a man by way of drinking each beverages and leaving, and secondly while Renton procedures her outdoor the club and responds to his weak chat with a coldly merciless speech that leaves him completely dejected. However, whilst she leaves the taxi door open for Renton to move in, it turns into clear that the bad reaction might also had been in basic terms a device to create sexual power over him.

Later in the film, after a night time of ardour with Renton in her bed room, Renton and the audience are amused and disturbed to peer Diane converting from her silver dress into her school uniform. The target market knows the position Renton has discovered himself in. He ought to get away from this situation in any other case face the outcomes seeing that she is underage. However, Diane has once more the electricity over Renton in this situation because if she tells the police, Renton will face prison. She knows the law and blackmails him to fulfill her again . Diane also appears to be greater informed approximately present day subculture. In reality she emphasizes that shooting heroin, taking note of Iggy Pop and the truth that Renton and the main protagonists are nevertheless in Edinburgh are old, "Times are changing, track is converting, even pills are converting" .

Establishing sexual energy over men is likewise visible in other girls in the film. In a nutshell, Trainspotting's male characters are prepared to drop their typical cozy façade and jeopardize embarrassment to fulfill their sexuality. The women in Trainspotting seem to be more than happy to coerce. For example Spud's female friend refused to sleep with Spud throughout their six-week dating however she later admitted to Lizzy that she wants to sleep with Spud yet she loves looking him suffer. Lizzy is also visible as ridiculing and sexually controlling her guys. She could now not deny herself from having sex with Tommy for the reason that it is her most effective delight she gets from him. However, later within the movie, when Thomas couldn't find the exceedingly intimate non-public video, Lizzy turned into ashamed. She turned into so livid with him that she left him .

Alison, played via Susan Vidler, is a typical drug-yearning mother. She is self-centred, absolutely neglecting her daughter. When the toddler is discovered useless in her cot, Renton narrates that they did now not know who father her infant. This furthers the belief that she is quite immature and lacking in morals, having sexual touch with all male members of the group. On coming across her daughter's loss of life, considered one of her initial reactions is to take heroin.

Mother advanced is the institution's heroin company. Although he is visible administering the drug to the pals, he himself is by no means considered making use of it. Mother advanced can't be considered completely as pal to them because he in the long run wants money for the drugs he presents. However, while Renton overdoses, Mother superior calls for a taxi and gives money for it. This may be interpreted as a friendly gesture however also as helping Renton to avoid getting into problem. Mother superior is aware of the extraordinary characters of the group. This can suggest that they have got all be the use of tablets for pretty some time, therefore frequenting Mother advanced's area frequently. During the film, the characters are seen shoplifting to preserve their drug addiction. The need to scouse borrow might have been initiated via Mother superior demanding tough coins.

The bond Renton has along with his buddies is just the common goal of taking pictures the following hit. When he isn't always on pills he has to stand fact, that is, keeping relationships, assembly women and normal duties. The film portrays what seems to be united organization. However, there is a fear of Begbie due to his violence and alcoholic dispositions as well as him being the older of the lot. Sickboy, Renton, Spud and later on in the movie Tommy all have a heroin dependancy, thus their favored approach to clear up troubles is taking successful. Begbie solves his with the aid of ingesting and combating. The organization proportion stolen cash and have a tendency to shoplift in corporations. When they visit the clubs, they birthday party together. Still, in the end Renton calls the relaxation of the institution "so-known as pals".

The courting between Renton and Spud can be thought of the excellent in the characters. As mentioned earlier than, Renton can not help liking Spud. Renton is seen giving his friend hints earlier than Spud's job interview. Even even though it is considered incorrect, Renton gives Spud some velocity to put him at easy. When both of them are stuck shoplifting, Renton wishes he went to jail instead of Spud. In the same scene, he admits feeling lonely, although being surrounded with family and pals. At the cease of the movie, Renton felt sorry for Spud because he never harmed each person or stated a awful word about his buddies. Thus, he left cash only to Spud. This courting is in addition supported through the fact that Renton asks Spud if they would take the money and cross. Renton may want to have more without problems grabbed the bag and left earlier than Spud would have reacted in any way.

Renton has an awesome dating with Tommy as nicely, thinking of him as certainly one of his fine friends. Tommy additionally considers Renton a chum by using confiding with him the issues he had with Lizzie. Renton felt sorry for Tommy whilst he observed his HIV wonderful pal residing in a terrible, filthy apartment. He tried to make amends by means of giving cash to Tommy to pay the lease. This dating is quite ironic due to the fact Tommy's downfall is due to Renton when he stole Tommy and Lizzy's video. From the start, Renton and Sickboy's relationship does now not seem strong. Renton is barely jealous of Sickboy. This influence is born by using the truth that Sickboy can without problems conquer heroin just due to the fact Renton is making an attempt to stop. Sickboy does not appear to have any problems dating women inside the disco scene while Renton did now not like the females round him, besides for Diane. Towards the quit of the movie, Renton states that Sickboy might betray him off as nicely if he idea approximately it first. Sickboy himself admits the reality.

Spud and Tommy are visible alone speakme about sex a relatively non-public trouble due to the fact they each have a girlfriend. Their girlfriends also appear to be in confidence with every different. They are at ease sharing issues: Spud - no sex in a six-week relationship; Tommy - forgetting Lizzy's birthday. He had a ticket for Iggy Pop for the equal night. When Tommy dies, Spud sings him a music. This little act suggests how an awful lot Spud cared for Tommy. Begbie's relationship with Renton is slightly contradictory. Begbie trusts Renton enough to confide with him whilst he went out with a transsexual with out knowing at first. However, Begbie threatens Renton on numerous activities, his competitive nature taking up all emotions. Renton pleases Begbie in particular due to the fact he fears him. Renton tries now not to oppose Begbie due to the fact he is "a psycho" At the give up of the film Renton states that he did no longer care that he betrayed Begbie.

The relationship portrayed between Mother advanced and Renton can't be termed as a friendship due to the fact in the end Mother Superior's business consists of promoting drugs to Renton and the relaxation of the group. Still their dating runs deeper than the everyday supplier-person dating. Mother advanced may want to have easily dumped Renton someplace as opposed to calling a taxi to take him to health facility. However, some can also doubt the gesture as generated because of friendship. The target audience ought to accept as true with that buying the taxi is a bit price to pay when compared to all of the problem Mother superior ought to get if discovered with a dead frame.

Trainspotting may be described as conveying an anti-tablets message, that's portrayed thru "character studies in place of a patronizing preach" This movie offers its target market with multiple view of drug Throughout the film, the young people characters are often visible cooking heroin and injecting the latter into their bodies (, but it also portrays the ache, affliction, depression and unhappiness which are derived from this drug dependancy . One should say that this movie is a warning about the fears and perils of drug dependancy, especially heroin dependancy .

Trainspotting's anti-drug message especially lies inside the movie's capacity to demonstrate and address the reason as to why younger human beings are interested in drugs. Furthermore the film's electricity and achievement into providing the audience with the negative results, harm and effects that derive from this kind of addiction convey this anti-capsules message more definitely. The movie portrays these negative results and damages constantly for the duration of the movie. The movie and its characters input a international of forget, dieing babies, AIDS, tension, melancholy, boredom and hopelessness. Moreover the alternative anti-drugs message that derives from this film "goes past reasons and effects in explaining that critical drug abuse is itself past motive and consequences: Renton asks, "Who desires reasons while you have got heroin?" .

Trainspotting offers with the mid 80's heroin subculture of Edinburgh, "whilst Pakistani smack had glutted the United Kingdom market, turning into, for hundreds of everyday people mired in unemployment, a less expensive method to oblivion than alcohol". It analysis the probability of young people subcultures to surpass "their social elegance contect and shape(ing) a category of their very own" In this movie even "nonravers" are portrayed as drug users, each in a literal feel ("kingdom-sanctioned chemical substances like alcohol or tranquilizers") and in a metaphorical feel ("TV, films, computer video games, the adrenaline rush of soccer violence") .

Hebdige (1979:one hundred) keeps that "style is an intentional verbal exchange." Barthes (N.D.) as referred to in Hebdige (1979:a hundred), differentiates among "subcultural" and "regular patterns." The subcultural fashion collects those insistent combos of apparel, song, jargon and so on, and nearly reveals a corresponding connection to "the more traditional formulae (ordinary fits, ties, twin units, and so forth.)". The clothes that people wear are selected inside the constraint of choice, flavor, price and so forth. Such picks embody a extensive variety of messages, which might be communicated through the delicately diverse differences of some of "interlocking units" such as repute, self-image and sophistication. Subcultural styles distinguish themselves from regular patterns as "they may be fabricated and they show their personal codes," and this is constantly portrayed during the movie (Hebdige, 1979:100-one zero one). Through the clothes worn with the aid of the characters inside the movies, they're portraying the message that they do not belong to the "ordinary subculture" however they belong to a class or way of life in their very own; "I talk through my clothes" (Eco, 1973 as mentioned in Hebdige, 1979:100).

Trainspotting may be described as darkish humor, however junkies' world overvalued the movie heartily. It's a movie that is in particular approximately human beings that don't want to belong. Trainspotting isn't the first film approximately heroin, however the first one that may be a 'slap in our faces are each the awful realities of existence at the tip of a needle and a freewheeling, pop-tune-fueled glorification of the addicts' smack-glad life' .

The Trainspotting soundtrack became wildly a success in the international charts after the discharge of the movie itself, in the 1990's. The track rating is specially composed of famous track. Sometimes the movie takes the semblance of a track video, with communique kept at a bare minimum. The scene and the soundtrack are entire and enough for the viewer to understand. This is used numerous instances and for exceptional purposes .

In the first ten minutes of the movie, we are transfixed; looking as the anti hero Renton and Spud race through the streets and a voice over begins:"Choose life. Choose a activity. Choose a profession. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big tv; choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electric tin openers. Choose suitable fitness, low cholesterol and dental coverage. . . ."

This litany is going on and then we get a view of Renton lying in heroin stupor and the voice over ends with:

"But why would I want to do a component like that? I chose no longer to choose life: I chose something else. And the motives? There are not any motives. Who needs motives when you've got heroin?"

Accompanying this powerful scene is Iggy Pop's 'Lust for Life'. 'Lust for Life', in which the lyrics, are markedly subordinated to Renton's voice-over after the thumping beginning few bars, so much so that the most effective lyrical fragments that may be heard are the outlet line 'Here comes Johnny Yen once more...' and the choral chorus ('I gotta lust for lifestyles'). Incidentally, Iggy Pop is famend for his past heroin abuse and is referred to pretty lots inside the movie. The  eventually come to suggest each other - Mark Renton is the principal man or woman of the film, and Iggy Pop is the maximum outstanding artist on the soundtrack album. Iggy Pop's music additionally lends a sense of rebel to the movie. We can observe Iggy Pop's poster in one of the scenes too

Renton's understanding of new music is confined and that is visible after they pass clubbing. Renton is unwell secure; he hasn't been out for a long time and is not in touch with the contemporary song scene. This is wherein we have the inclusion of the songs Born Slippy and 'For what you dream of'. All this suggests how Renton has been so wrapped up into his heroin dependancy that he's definitely positioned of contact. The only song Renton acknowledges is a music at the beginning by way of Blondie referred to as "Atomic' (an 80's track). The shift in emphasis is clear in Trainspotting itself as, despite the fact that the musical individual of the score progressively shifts from the proto-punk of Iggy Pop thru to the more latest waves of dance song

Some of the song changed into recorded purposely for the film. For instance Pulp's "Mile End", which accompanies Mark Renton's moving into a London flat. The lyrics of the music describe the country of the flat he moves into:

"It smelt as if someone had died
The dwelling room became full of flies.
The kitchen sink turned into blocked
The rest room sink now not there at all..."

Another music created through the group Leftfield for the movie is sarcastically known as 'The final Hit'. Throughout the film Renton takes many of his so called final hits. It is mainly an instrumental track, with harmonic chords which contrast with a darkish, nearly overpowering rhythm tune. The comparison among concord and rhythm can also constitute Mark Renton's combined emotions at this factor within the movie - he desperately desires to give up heroin, however the feeling it offers him is too gratifying.

As an entire the tune used in the movie is complete of irony. For instance while Renton is hallucinating that he's disappearing down the 'dirtiest toilet in Scotland', we pay attention a mellow piece of ambient music by Brian Eno, aptly known as Deep Blue Day. The film takes a surreal twist right here and we enter a global of gentle sounds and pix as Renton swims in a blue ocean. This all contrasts harshly with the reality of Renton digging into a dirty toilet to locate his heroin suppositories, whilst he vomits uncontrollably

All of the songs in the soundtrack of Trainspotting have end up full-size to folks that noticed it and accomplice the songs to the film; to heroin. At this time, the term heroin sublime became having super effect inside the international. Heroin sublime changed into a trend in the ninety's that characterised the "thin, sickly look of junkies. Blank expression, waxy complexion, darkish circles below the eyes, sunken cheeks, immoderate thinness, greasy hair" had been visible on runway fashions displaying the 'heroin elegant' appearance and promoted in famous mag and style circles as 'chic'. This fragile, thin, and drug-addicted look became properly-liked inside the style global. In fact, in 1997 it become the idea of the marketing marketing campaign of Calvin Klein. The heroin sublime fashion furnished debate and anti-drug organizations protested. "Fashion designers, fashions consisting of Kate Moss and James King, and films which includes Trainspotting have been blamed for glamorizing the heroin sublime look and life-style"

Former US President Bill Clinton condemned the heroin chic appearance and the 'heroin elegant' style photography for sending a message that the usage of the drug is 'glamorous' and 'attractive'. He stated, "You do not need to glamorize addiction to sell clothes." As he noticed it, the glorification of heroin "isn't creative. It is negative. It isn't always stunning. It is unpleasant. And this isn't always about artwork. It is about existence and loss of life. And glorifying loss of life isn't top for any society" Not enormously a lot of the mainstream press and the dailies had been horrified by using the plain glorification of heroin use in the movie Trainspotting. Junkies had been offered as righteous heroes deciding on freedom over the tyranny of purchaser society. Suddenly all values have been inverted as viewers and readers were invited to discover and empathise with low-lifes who might assume not anything of spending all day looking telly and capturing heroin. Trainspotting helped a brand new morbid fascination with the drug heroin by way of portraying powerful role models inside the film. For years heroin has been very famous inside the lives of young celebrities as an example River Phoenix (who died of an overdose in 1992).

Trainspotting turned into a extremely good hit and can be visible of extra than advertisement than a movie. Even years after the film changed into released, the movie approximately heroin dependancy is become of the excellent marketed movies that portrays cultural images of the heroin subcultures. Trainspotting has obtained a cult following. The movie addresses each the issues of heroin addiction from a consumer point of view to an anti-drug factor of view. Trainspotting manages to surprise us, terrify and disgust us one second and make us chortle the subsequent. Trainspotting does now not actually have a plot but genuinely comply with the each day lives of this organization of junkies

Drugs are the main attention of this movie. In the 1990's a brand new wave of song and pills began to emerge. Heroin was visible as old school (Iggy Pop). With the film Trainspotting heroin changed into given the highlight. Characters like Sick Boy and Renton have become idols for rebellious teens who wanted to test in drugs, felt disenchanted, unattached from society. Trainspotting have become the bible to this new era of heroin junkies. They had a soundtrack and idols to emulate. On the alternative hand one may want to have viewed the film as it's miles; an ironic and cynical peep hollow into the lives of a collection of heroin addicts. The tragedy of the movie is apparent to the viewer, but than it is up to the individual to interpret it.
